The Emeriti and Retirees Associations invite you to an engaging conversation with Paul Bergman, UCLA Law School Emeritus, will be in conversation with Stuart Wolpert, director of UCLA Conversations, followed by an audience Q&A.

           

Law Professor Emeritus Paul Bergman will speak with us on Thursday, Nov. 12, 2026 at our 1:30 p.m. after-lunch program about how popular movies depict the law and courtroom trials. Professor Bergman earned his J.D. from UC Berkeley, clerked for a federal court of appeals judge, and worked at a law firm before joining the UCLA law faculty. As a retiree, Professor Bergman continues to publish books and articles, and gives film clip-based presentations to judges, lawyers and groups in the U.S., U.K. and Japan. He also uses film clips to teach about movies and the law in UCLA Extension courses. Professor Bergman’s awards include UCLA’s Distinguished Teaching award. He is the author of books on courtroom movies, including “Reel Justice: The Courtroom Goes to the Movies.” Stuart Wolpert will lead this UCLA Conversation. Join the Conversation!
