“On the Horizon” is a cross-town collaboration between UCLA and USC that brings together leaders in gerontology, psychological research, public health, engineering, and policy. The program highlights each institution’s strengths while identifying new interdisciplinary pathways to transform aging in Southern California and beyond. Our shared mission is to look over the horizon, anticipating the biological, social, technological, and environmental factors that will shape what healthy aging means over the next decade.
UCLA/USC Series on Aging: Alzheimer’s and the Politics of Aging – Why It All Matters
Gerontology experts from both schools will speak, with USC professors Mara Mather and Christian Pike reporting on cutting edge issues of Alzheimer's and UCLA professors Fernando Torres-Gil, Alan Castel and Dan Mitchell addressing current policy issues impacting aging, especially those affecting intergenerational tensions. USC’s Kelvin Davies, Emeritus Provost and Dean of Gerontology, will moderate.
This speaker series is sponsored by the Retired Associations of both UCLA and USC.
