Day Hike-Murphy Ranch at Rustic Canyon

Join the hiking club for a 3.85 mile hike on Murphy Ranch trail through a section of Rustic Canyon on Thurs, Feb. 27 at 9:30.

This is a fun and challenging hike that will take us down into a canyon and through the former estate of Winona Stephens who was a Nazi sympathizer. We’ll see ocean views and heavily graffitied ruins from the 1930’s. 

This hike is fairly easy except for the 521 steps that we’ll take 200 feet down the canyon. The steps are short and a little shallow and there are no handrails. Your quads will definitely get a workout! 

Upon registration you’ll receive an email with driving and parking directions.

Activity Level:  Vigorous.  Wear sturdy shoes and bring water, sun screen, a hat and a snack.  There are no restrooms along the trail.
