A moon-struck physicist Margaret Galland Kivelson
Department of Earth, Planetary and Space Sciences, UCLA and Department of Climate and Space Sciences and Engineering, University of Michigan
As a member of the first generation that can look back on decades of involvement with NASA’s space programs and, in particular, with missions to Jupiter and Saturn, Margaret has stories to tell about exploration of planets and moons, about some unexpected discoveries about those bodies, and about how I ended up as one of the explorers. The talk will end with a summary of projects already in development that will increase our understanding of Jupiter’s moons.
