From a quick fact check to a special briefing, The Exchange provides quick and easy access to experts from all the scientific disciplines.

Since its launch in 2008, The Exchange has completed more than 1,900 consults including IRON MAN 2, THOR, TRON: LEGACY, AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON, STAR TREK: INTO THE DARKNESS, MAN OF STEEL, Fringe, CASTLE, BOURNE: LEGACY, The Good Wife, CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER, BIG HERO 6, 10 CLOVERFIELD LANE, and BLACK PANTHER.

Sachi Gerbin is the Program Officer at The Science  & Entertainment Exchange. She facilitates scientific consultations for entertainment professionals and helps plan The Exchange events.

She received a B.S. in biology from Harvey Mudd College, and a Ph.D. in biological chemistry from UCLA, where she gained a background in cell and cancer biology. She initially learned about science communication as a Christine Mirzayan Science and Technology Policy Graduate fellow at the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, where she helped promote engineering through various communication outlets, including a radio series on engineering innovations.

The UCLA Emeriti Association and the UCLA Retirees Association (UCLARA) are both all-volunteer organizations that represent the interests of UCLA's retired faculty/staff and plan programs for their members. Support their advocacy efforts by joining or renewing your membership. Membership forms will be available at the program.
